The Abbaye aux Hommes and the Town Hall of Caen, one of the most beautiful town halls in France.
L'abbaye aux Hommes, ou église Saint-Étienne de Caen, est une des deux grandes abbayes, avec l'abbaye aux Dames, fondées par Guillaume le Conquérant, duc de Normandie et futur roi d'Angleterre, vers 1063, à Caen. Ce monument abrite la tombe de Guillaume le Conquérant. La visite est libre.
Les bâtiments conventuels de style roman ont été bâtis au XIe siècle et reconstruits au début du XVIIIe. Ils ont un temps abrité le lycée Malherbe avant de devenir l'Hôtel de Ville de Caen en 1965.
La ville de Caen fêtera son millénaire en 2025, cela vaut bien une cache virtuelle !

The Abbaye aux Hommes, or Church of Saint-Étienne de Caen, is one of the two great abbeys, along with the Abbaye aux Dames, founded by William the Conqueror, Duke of Normandy and future King of England, around 1063, in Caen. This monument houses the tomb of William the Conqueror. The visit is free.
The Romanesque convent buildings were built in the eleventh century and rebuilt at the beginning of the eighteenth. For a time, they housed the Lycée Malherbe before becoming the Caen City Hall in 1965.
The city of Caen will celebrate its millennium in 2025, it's well worth a virtual cache !
