When: Thursday, Feb 29, 2024 from 12:15pm to 1:00pm.
What: Bring a bag lunch and hang out with other C.A.C.H.E.rs (Camrose & Area Cache Hunting Enthusiasts)
Where: Camrose City Hall, located at 5204 - 50 Ave. Please use the Council Entrance near the east side of the building. Come in through those doors, and we'll be in the room right in front of you (Room #126).
Why: To celebrate the 2024 version of Leap Year, and because we all need to eat lunch on that day anyways!!
Many geocachers would love to get out there and cache on pretty much every day they can. In fact, many geocachers have made it their personal goal to eventually log a cache on every calendar day of the year. In order to truly complete such a challenge though, one must first find a cache on that elusive day that happens only once every 4 years, February 29th.
In celebration of this year's Leap Day, we have decided to host a "bring your own lunch" type event for during the lunch hour. This event will be in one of the meetings rooms as Camrose City Hall.
The event will be very simple in its set-up: bring a bag lunch to the posted coordinates on the date and time listed, and eat your lunch with other C.A.C.H.E.rs that are there. It will be a great time of catching up with other cachers and exchanging stories. Don't forget to bring your Trackables too, as events such as these are usually great times of trading and discovering TBs.
Please note that everyone is invited to attend this event, even if you aren't from anywhere close to the Camrose area. Over the past few years, we've had cachers join us for these "bring your own lunch" from as far away as Edmonton and even Calgary!
There will be a log book present at the event for cachers to sign. Hope to see you all there!!
