Event will be from 10:00am to 10:30am. Since this is on BLM land, no permit is required. Should it rain that morning or the night before, the event will be cancelled due to possible flash flooding in the washes, and an announcement will be posted prior to 8:00am.
Lace up your hiking boots and let's meet at the posted coordinates. Allow 45 minutes to one hour from the parking coordinates. Round trip hiking is roughly two miles. From the parking coordinates hike along the road to the information sign at the listed coordinates below. Please read the sign as it will give information on the trail to and beyond the posted coordinates. After reading the sign, turn around and look for the cairn across the road. That is the beginning of the trail to the posted coordinates. There is nothing special at GZ, no plane crash site and no petroglyphs, just a lot of comraderie. From the posted coordinates the trail continues about four more miles in a clockwise direction back to the information sign. Extra credit will be given to those who continue on that route.
