Geocache Description:

07 January 2024, 14:00 - 15:00

Who doesn't love goats and what geocacher doesn't love a good hike?!  Lets combine the two! Meet us at Dreamgoats Idlewild Farm 10594 Button Road, Belding MI.  Please arrive a little before or promptly at 2:00pm.  This is a timed event and there will be others scheduled after us.  There won't be a meet and greet option before the event, so only those doing the hike should attend.  We will enjoy 15-20 minutes of feeding/petting the goats, then a 25 minute hike with the goats through the pasture and orchard, and end the event with hot chocolate by the fire. The goats will be hiking with us and there may be some uneven terrain.  Dress for cold weather and mud!  THERE IS A LIMIT OF 12 ATTENDEES for this event so please post your will attend when you are positive you are coming. If you have to cancel for any reason, please do so as soon as possible to open up a spot for someone else.  Due to the limit, age 15 and up only!  Thanks for your understanding.  If you are looking to get rid of your Christmas tree, you can bring it with you and donate it as a snack for the goats! Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Please read the following information from the farm.  Any questions, please feel free to message me.

We are so excited for your visit to Dreamgoats new Idlewild Farm home in Belding, MI.

DIRECTIONS TO THE FARM: Idlewild Farm is on the north side of 6 Mile Road (Button Rd), east of Cannonsburg, south of the city of Belding, and just three minutes west of Smyrna (home to The Smyrna Bar + Otisco Bakery). From Grand Rapids, it can be accessed via 5 mile, M-44, or Cannonsburg Rd.

When you arrive at the farm, please enter via the farm drive, NOT the house driveway. The farm drive is one drive west of the driveway for the mint green house. Please park on the left side of the farm drive and walk up to the barn (let us know if accessibility issues prevent this). The goat barn is cream-colored and located east (to the right) of the red flower barn.

If it's muddy out, be sure to park on the gravel drive so your car doesn't get stuck. Watch your step as the ground can be uneven due to the construction process and the realities of unpaved paths!
