The OndrTeam’s 2nd Annual Lunch in Margaritaville!

Calling on Geocachers, who will be attending the awesome & OndrFul *S*W*A*G* Yuma Event 2024! And of course an additional holler to all those who won’t be able to make the event, but will be in town on Monday.
We are again honored to host the Gr8 “OndrTeam’s Lunch in Margaritaville” just across the border in Los Algodones Mexico!
This year‘s upcoming luncheon will be especially poignant, as we intend to have a small memorial for the The Father of Margaritaville, Mr. Jimmy Buffett, who has left us but perhaps has been introduced to Geocaching in the great realm of coordinates in the sky.
There are also a couple of birthdays that will be honored (msg us to make sure there is a little “somesing” for you from GeoK9 Frisco).
Helpful and important information:
- You must bring your passport with you to enter Mexico and get back into the United States.
- There can be a long line to get back into the United States, possibly a several hour wait.
- There is a lovely little restaurant right across from the line where you can get delicious margaritas while waiting and also has a geocache that can be found.
- GeoK9 Frisco will wander through the line to say hello to everyone and give a handsome smile.
- It is usually quite warm in February in this area so make sure to bring a hat and water (bottled water is available for purchase from street vendors if needed).
- Should the need arise (as it did last year) Gr8Slater is a paramedic so if anyone needs assistance he will be accessible for that.
- Cell phone coverage is usually not available once you cross the border so check to see if you have the option to switch to international roaming in your phone settings as soon as you cross.
- Make sure to download any caches you’d like to get first, just in case you don’t have an international cell phone roaming option.
- You can park on the USA side of the border and walk to the event and the local caches (see the parking way point).
