A Saturday lunchtime CITO to help rid Long Lane and Newark Road of rubbish
The event will run from 1pm-2pm
Why here? We've done three litter picks here now and they have helped enormously getting rid of litter. Now, the verges and hedgerows are exposed as winter arrives which has revealed the hidden rubbish chucked away in the autumn months. The villagers have been impressed with what's happened before and as I'm hosting my monthly event in the pub, I thought I'd have another CITO before it.
Please bring the following with you:
- Suitable footwear and clothing
- Gloves
- A litter picker, if you have one
I will provide:
Children are welcome to take part but should be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Dogs are welcome too but should be kept on a lead. Everyone takes part at their own risk, although accidents and incidents are unlikely if we're careful and sensible.
Come along prepared to spend a while clearing the area and removing the litter. Although this is mostly in the form of cans, wrappers, crisp packets etc, it is important to be careful and vigilant when picking up litter. If you see anything that you're not sure of then don't touch it! Call someone else over and we can decide together what to do about it.
At the end of the CITO, we will remove the rubbish collected and dispose of it.
Plenty of parking is available on Front Street outside the pub and further in to the village.
