The event will keep to the established KT formula of food, drink and geochat.
The Swan & Chequers was once a Kay's Atlas Brewery of Ardwick pub. It was taken over by Robinson's in 1929.
Formerly a corn exchange, it was rebuilt as the Swan Hotel by Kay's Brewery in 1893. The frontage has a terracotta plaque showing a beast holding a key in its mouth. In the terracotta tympanums above first floor windows are 'K' and 'beast and key' images. There are also several examples of the 'beast and key' in painted glass in both ground floor and first floor windows. It is believed that the 'beast and key' was an emblem of the Kay family.
It has benefited from a recent and extensive refurbishment.
The Menu hopefully offers something suitable for everyone who wishes to eat. They also have a few rotating cask options if that sort of thing floats your goat.
There is on street parking immediately adjacent to the venue and I've included coordinates for a couple of car parks nearby.
The event will officially end at 21:00 although you are of course welcome to be the LTL (last to leave) as late as you fancy!
They state on their website that they are a family and dog friendly establishment.
Please remember to note in your log the number of attendees and whether or not you expect to be eating so I can keep the venue updated. I've currently booked space for 30...but this can be added to if required.

All cachers are welcome to come along. The KT series of events do have some regular attendees and they warmly welcome all non-regular and brand new attendees. The event moves around the north west each month and attracts different people in each different venue. If you've not been to a KT event before, please do log a 'Will Attend' so we can look out for you.
