Geocache Description:

07 January 2024, 08:30 - 10:00

Chris's Cork Breakfasts are my event series down in Cork, complementing the better known Swedish Breakfast events up in Dublin as we do not have an Ikea down here.

Sunday 7th January 2024, from 830am until 10am is the time we will be having their seventh iteration in the Café at Dunnes Stores in Bishopstown. Breakfast will be available and I will likely be partaking. Given that its the low season, I'm having a Cork breakfast on an otherwise cold and rainy Sunday morning and doing the double of Swedish Breakfasts in Belfast and Dublin a month later. So I would recommend you attend all three!

I will take up residence somewhere obvious in the restaurant and you are all more than welcome to join me to chat geocaching, to swap trackables amongst yourselves (but not give any to me) and, if you wish, to rant and give out about whatever ails you.

This will be an opportunity to eat a hearty breakfast ready for your own Sunday caching adventures. Bring your own personal coin/bug selection for discovery and bring your questions about that annoying puzzle along too. You may (or may not) get help! If you have any plans for upcoming caches, this event would be a great time to discuss them with the group. If you're thinking of going to your first event, come along! If you're thinking of a days shopping, why not tie it in with an event cache??

There is however, absolutely no requirement to buy food or drink at the venue. But if you are not partaking, you are not allowed to be hangry.

To/from the event:

There is plenty of parking at GZ so that is what I would recommend. I don't think any buses come this way on a Sunday morning.

Remember from the Red Cow in Dublin to GZ is 247km and only 2h30m, motorway and dual-carriageway the whole way so you have no excuse. From the outskirts of Belfast it is a mere 264 miles and 4h10m. Again, an easy short drive. So I expect to see everyone here. And with the Dunkettle works substantially done there is one less impediment.

Please note: There are actually two Dunnes Stores in Bishopstown and whilst going to the wrong one would be unlikely, for goodness sake make sure you go to the one just off the Bandon Road Roundabout at the above co-ordinates. The other one was getting demolished and replaced, but could well be done and open come January.
