Aujourd'hui lieu de promenade, le Robec était jusqu'au XIXème siècle une rivière industrielle entrainant les roues à aubes des usines textiles et des moulins.
Nous vous proposons donc au travers d'un parcours d'environ 2 km de découvrir ce patrimoine historique tout en profitant de la nature.
Nous avons passé du temps à confectionner ces caches, prenez en soin et remettez les bien en place.
N'oubliez pas de vous munir d'une pince à épiler et d'une bouteille d'eau.
#8 MOULIN DES DAMES DE SAINT-AMAND :
Le moulin des Dames de Saint-Amand tient son nom de l'abbaye des bénédictines de Saint-Amand fondée en 1030. Comme les autres grands établissements religieux rouennais, l’abbaye de Saint-Amand possèdait son propre moulin construit le long du Robec. Sous l'Ancien Régime, seuls la ville de Rouen, le clergé et la noblesse avaient le droit de moudre le blé. A la fin du 19e siècle, il est converti en fabrique textile jusque dans les années 1980. Le bâtiment que l'on voit aujourd'hui est la version reconstruite au 19e siècle.

#8 DAMES DE SAINT-AMAND MILL:
The Dames de Saint-Amand Mill derives its name from the Benedictine Abbey of Saint-Amand, founded in 1030. Like the other major religious establishments in Rouen, the Saint-Amand Abbey owned its own mill built along the Robec. During the Ancien Régime, only the city of Rouen, the clergy, and the nobility had the right to grind wheat. By the late 19th century, it was converted into a textile factory until the 1980s. The building visible today is a reconstructed version from the 19th century.
