Geocache Description:

25 December 2023, 11:00 - 13:30

25 December 2023, 11:00 am - 1:30 pm

      Edna Burton Senior Center

345 Ball St, Ortonville, MI 48462

Once more we will having our Christmas event and the time is set for 11:00 am to 1:30 pm pm We have moved the event indoors to the Edna Burton Senior Center. Because of the weather, one year (such as the first) the weather was tolerable and last year saw a snow storm blow through. Despite the propane heaters and the huge fire place with hot soup, people were still very much cold.

I will tell you that there are a few cachers who volunteered (or was it like the army, they were asked to volunteer) to help make a Christmas dinner. We will supply dinner plates, plastic ware, napkins and coffee. Please bring your own non alcholic beverage of choice.  We will serve Ham, mashed potatoes and salad. If you would like to make a side dish, please message me and list it in your will attends.

I am currently working on games for the event.

Goodies Bag

Get to know your geocachers quiz game.

One will be a White Elephant Game (Thanks RT2T). Participation is not required but fun.

  1. Each player brings one wrapped gift to contribute to a common pool
  2. Players draw numbers to determine what order they will go in
  3. The first player selects a gift from the pool and opens it
  4. The following players can choose to either pick an unwrapped gift from the pool or steal a previous player’s gift. Anyone who gets their gift stolen in this way can do the same – choose a new gift or steal from someone else.
  5. After all players have had a turn, the first player gets a chance to swap the gift he or she is holding for any other opened gift. Anyone whose gift is stolen may steal from someone else (as long as that person hasn’t been stolen from yet). When someone declines to steal a gift, the game comes to an end.
  6. Three Swaps and You’re Out. If you get stolen from three times during the game, you are out of the game and can no longer be stolen from.
  7. Three Swaps and the Gift is Out. If a present gets stolen three times, it’s out of the game and the person who holds it gets to walk away with it.
