Join myself and the rangers from Kingston University in clearing invasive species from the university's woodland.
Work will include using saws, loppers and mattocks to remove branches and dig out root stumps. For those of you who were disappointed about the lack of light weeding, there will the bramble clearance. This will encourage more growth of the native species. As we go we will collect and remove any litter. No previous experience is necessary as full instructions will be given at the start. Please be prompt for the health and safety talk at the beginning if you have never attended one of these citos before. After this we will move into the woodland. The Ranger is happy for those who have attended before, to arrive later. Parents will need supervise their children at all times.
Please bring your own gardening gloves, waders and wear old clothes/waterproofs that are suitable for day's weather and sturdy boots as the area we will be working on is uneven and on a fairly steep slope.
Snacks will be provided and we will try cover the people that log a 'will attend', please bring your own packed lunch and drinks. Cakes to share are always welcome!
Public transport to the meeting spot is via local buses 85 and K3 from kingston and Putney Bridge stations
