We will be cutting and chipping Laurel (a non-native invasive species) to give space for native species to re-establish.

What a Chipper Laurel Bash @ Walkwood Woodland Session 1

Getting here:

Tilsworth Road, Beaconsfield, HP9 1TP

Please park near the vehicle access gate adjacent to number 45 Tilsworth Road, HP9 1TP. Please park considerately.

Then enter the woods and continue along the main path and you will see us approximately 200 yards into the woods. Look out for our truck.

Please car share where possible. Please park considerately.

Please can we ask everyone to arrive on time at 10:00 to ensure you do not miss the health & safety and task briefing. If you are late and the session has already started, you may not be able to join. Thank you.

Stop Press! We will also be doing a Health and Safety Briefing at 13:00 if you just want to join us for the afternoon.

Important! In order to track numbers please also register for this session via Eventbrite. If you are booking for more than one person please make sure you book one ticket for each person to ensure we bring enough tools for everyone.

The task:

We will be cutting and chipping Laurel (a non-native invasive species) to give space and light for native species to re-establish bringing the wood back to life. Trained chippers very welcome to join us!!

What to bring:

  • Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task - long trousers are advisable as there is thorny vegetation. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of fluids! 

  • We will bring a tea kits and biscuits.

  • Hand washing facilities will be available.

Volunteering and COVID:

Please do not attend sessions if you have tested positive for COVID or if you have COVID symptoms e.g. a new continuous cough, a high temperature, a loss of, or change in your normal sense of taste or smell.
