November 'Tidy Up' and Bug Habitat Creation at Hucclecote Meadows SSSI
Parking: There is some on-street parking opposite Hucclecote Meadows Reserve on Laxton Road (or in many of the other side streets nearby).
Where: We will meet at 09:30 by the main entrance to the Reserve (see reference point) or after that find us working in the far SSSI field (main coordinates).
What: Join us as we continue to work to clear fallen trees from the field boundary and use the material to create log pile habitats for insects and small mammals. This will also create light to allow self seeded tree saplings to flourish.
How: The Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance and tools. Please bring your own gardening gloves if possible and if you wish to bring your own tools (loppers, saw) please do so. Don't worry if you don't have tools as the Ranger will have a supply.
Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by Council insurance as long as you are working under the Countryside Ranger's instruction.
Please bring water and a drink/snack for breaktime.
