Breakfast is the most important meal of the day so come and join the South Derbyshire Geocaching gang for our monthly breakfast club, held on the last Sunday of every month.

This month's event will be held at the
TALL CHIMNEY, Unit 20, The Pipe Works, Coppice Side, Swadlincote DE11 9FQ

You can meet new geocachers, talk about your adventures and experiences, get to grips with different Geocaching apps, GPS devices, GSAK, exchange travel bugs and have fun chatting with people who have the same hobby.

Any changes will be communicated via an announcement on this event page.

Tables are reserved for 'Kim - South Derbyshire Geocaching'.

THE VENUE DOES NOT OPEN UNTIL 9AM (So no point arriving too early) OR BOOK EXTRA STAFF TO WORK IN THE EVENT THAT WE HAVE A LARGE NUMBER OF ATTENDEES, THEREFORE, YOUR BREAKFAST MAY TAKE SOME TIME TO ARRIVE - Please be patient and enjoy the time to relax and chat.

PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE THREE HOUR PARKING TIME LIMIT IN THE PIPEWORKS CAR PARK (Please check the notice board in case this has changed).   Parking is free for up to three hours, but if more time is required, this can be extended by registering your vehicle with the pub.

Originally built in 1790 as a firebrick works, Wragg's Pipeworks became a seweage pipe factory in the 1840's.  The most prominent structure, a 164 foot tall brick chimney, which towers over this venue, was built in 1910 when the factory was known as Wragg's Pipeworks.  In 1978 the works were taken over by Hepworths.  It is the tallest structure in Swadlincote and was threatened with demolition in the 1980s, however was opposed by locals and the structure was given Grade II listed status.   In 2002 the site was acquired by a major supermarket chain and much of the remaining works demolished and redeveloped with a large supermarket.  What remains is now 'The Pipe Works' retail park.
