Postajno poslopje, dolgo 66 metrov in široko 12 metrov, je bilo zgrajeno v neoromanskem slogu po načrtih iz Dunaja. Njegova gradnja se je začela leta 1847 in končala aprila naslednjega leta. Na vrhu poslopja je bil značilni lesen zvonik z uro, ki je bil simbol železniških postaj avstrijske južne železnice, dokler se ni zrušil v potresu leta 1895.

A century after the devastating earthquake that toppled the clock tower, the station underwent a thorough renovation in 1995. In line with the original plans, a new brick tower with a clock was built, and the underpass leading to the platforms was modernized.
