A nice easy clean up of the green before getting our picnic on. This starting location is perfect to split up from. Some can go along the CCT, some over the bridge to the old Prison house, some can walk along Lorton Road, and others can walk the circle around the Green. Trash will be dropped back off at this location.
CITO stands for Cache In Trash Out. It’s the geocacher’s approach to keeping our game board (i.e. the entire planet) in great shape. Geocachers gather together to pick up trash, remove invasive species, repair trails and more! Each CITO we attend is a testament to care: care for others, our communities, and our planet. Also all geocachers who participate in a CITO between September 1st to November 30th will earn a pretty sweet new souvenir!
Bags for the clean up have been provided by NoVAGO, and I will have bags at the starting coords. You WILL get dirty, so dress appropriately, and wear good footwear. The fields could be soggy. The wood line may have thorns and some poison ivy. Your garden gloves will come in handy as well. Our planned cleanup area is marked in red on the picture below. Disabled cachers are invited as well. The park has a paved lot that could be policed easily by wheelchair.
Trash Clean-Up BINGO is easy. Bingo cards will be given out at the start of the CITO. To avoid folks changing alliances or adding independents to their group just to "win," families/groups will be identified via "WILL ATTEND" logs prior to the clean up starting. I have only one geocoin to give to the winner. Incase nobody gets a 5 in the row BINGO, the winner will be decided by who has the most blocks full. Incase of tie, there will be a best of 3 Rock, Paper, Scissors game.
