Geocache Description:

From the kiosk in East Pepperell center (N 42º 39.992, W 71º 34.418) follow the rail trail south for 1.65 miles to a gate. Leave the bike path and take this new trail, turning right at N 42º 38.768, W 71º 34.676. Follow this narrow path toward the river and then to the cache. Some bushwhacking (easy) required for the last 100 yards.

You may want to start in Ayer (N 42º 33.719, W 71º 35.385) or Groton (42º 36.418, W 71º 34.396) and make it a bike hike. If you like trail riding, you can leave the pavement at the gate and ride practically the whole way to the cache. It is a slightly shorter distance to the gate if you get on the trail at Sand Hill Road (N 42º 37.938, W 71º 34.530).

Another option is to take the wooded trail that starts just down the hill from the Sand Hill parking area at N42 37.790 W 071 34.750. This is the trailhead for the Harry Rich Town Forest. This cache can also be done by “boat-cachers” and it is accessible in the winter.

Cache is a plastic peanut butter jar with a blue top. The cache contents are log book and pencil and several small trinkets
