Der Cache selbst befindet sich zwar außerhalb des Zaunes, zum Loggen hängt aber bitte ein Bild des besagten Erhardisteins an, der sich auf dem Gelände, aber außerhalb der Wallfahrtskirche Maria Heimsuchung befindet. Das Tor ist tagsüber geöffnet. Die Kirche selbst muss nich betreten werden.
Der Hl. Erhard war im 8. Jhd. als missionierender Wanderbischof in der Gegend unterwegs. Da er der Legende nach den Altheimer Bauern aber bei einer grassierenden Viehseuche nicht helfen konnte oder wollte, jagten die wutentbrannten Altheimer ihn davon. Mittels des Erhardisteins konnte er über die Isar nach Frauenberg flüchten. Den Stein, der ihn über den Fluss getragen hatte, ließ er als Dank für seine wundersame Rettung als Altarstein in die ursprüngliche Kapelle in Frauenberg einbauen, an deren Stelle seit 1480 die gotische Wallfahrtskirche Maria Heimsuchung steht.
The cache is placed outside the fence, however, in order to log it, please attach a picture of the "Erhardi-Rock", which is situated on church grounds, outside the church. The gate is open during the day. You do not need to enter the church.
Saint Erhard was a migrating bishop, traveling the area during the 8th century. According to a legend he couldn't or wouldn't help the people of Altheim to cure their livestock from a disease. As a result an angry mob chased him away and he managed to escape across the river floating on a rock. This so called Erhardi-Rock, that took him across the Isar, was used as an altar in the previous chapel of Frauenberg, that was replaced in 1480 by the gothic pilgrimage church "Maria Heimsuchung".
