The 12 Days of Cachemas (TDOC23) is a series of 78 caches, events and adventure labs placed across Victoria to celebrate Cachemas in July 2023. The series is a joint initiative of Geocaching Victoria and the local community to release caches in a different category each day across the state. We hope you have as much fun finding this series as we had placing them, now on to the cache.
Earlier this year, it was pointed out that many Local Government Areas (LGAs) in our great state have yet to be blessed with a CITO.
The Borough of Queenscliffe was one of those LGAs.
When asked to host a CITO for Cachemas 2023, we immediately considered hosting one in the LGA to rectify this.
The area around the Point Lonsdale Lighthouse through to the Rip View Carpark is a fantastic place to visit, whatever the weather. The views are spectacular. It is also a very windy area visited by some of the less tidy members of the human race, so there is frequently rubbish strewn around the place. Having rubbish blowing about is bad enough, but it is even worse when plenty of it gets blown into the Port Phillip Heads Marine National Park.
Join us to clean up the area between the Point Lonsdale Lighthouse and the Rip View Carpark (there are pathways and car park areas in need of a clean-up). We will provide rubbish bags; all you need to provide is a willingness to clean up the area, gloves and those wonderful picky-uppy things.
We are excited to see you there.
Please do not enter the fenced-off areas while attending the CITO. These areas are fenced off to protect the environment and to ensure that the plants continue to minimise erosion.
