Welkom bij deze GeoCache,
AWIP is één van de oudste nog in gebruik zijnde geocaches in Nederland.
Graag de cache graag weer GOED afdekken na het loggen.
We krijgen vaak van joggers een mail dat hij niet goed verstopt ligt en dat zij hem weer goed hebben toegedekt. Heel fijn natuurlijk, maar het is de bedoeling dat wij als Geocache gemeenschap dat doen.

Sommige in deze cache genoemde coördinaten zijn in het Rijks Driehoeks Stelsel.
Voor eenieder die niet standaard "Dutch Grid" & "Dutch Map Datum" in hun GPS hebben, gebruik onderstaande instellingen voor je "User Grid" & "User Map Datum" voor deze Cache. In het Rijks Driehoeks Systeem is het kleinste coördinaat deel altijd Oost en het grootste deel altijd Noord.

Na het veranderen van je grid & kaartdatum moet je je gps uitzetten en weer aanzetten (resetten) voordat je de niewe punten gaat invoeren!!

Wat je zult gaan doen:

• Lopen voor tenminste 5,1 km
• Maken en veranderen van ten minsten 7 waypoints
• Wijzigen van (user) grid
• Wijzigen van (user) datum
• Zoeken…

Denk svp aan het volgende:

• Blijf zoveel mogelijk op de paden
• Kom overdag (na zonsondergang riskeer je een boete)
• Geniet van de omgeving deze cache is gemaakt om de verschillende delen van dit bos door te lopen
• Probeer de cache niet in het zicht van andere (niet geocachers) te manipuleren
• Stop de cache svp terug zoals je hem gevonden hebt

Als je een topografische kaart wilt het nummer is: 1:25000 32C Zeist of 1:50000 32 West Amersfoort.
Op dit linkje kan je een overzichtskaart vinden van de omgeving van de parkeer plaats (handig om je weg naar de parkeerplek te vinden).

Cache informatie

Punten een tot zes:
Het is het makkelijkste om je voertuig te parkeren op de coördinaten van deze cache pagina. Loop hiervandaan via N 52°06.6154 E 005°13.6617(hulp punt) naar N 52°06.8665 E 005°13.9041 (start punt). Op dit punt vind je een omgevallen boom. Kijk in de tabel hieronder om erachter te komen wat je volgende punt is.
Op dit punt vind je een klein aluminium plaatje (deze is dicht bij de grond) met daarop je volgende coördinaten. Ga op deze manier door totdat je bij een een ondergrondse waterpomp gekomen bent.

Hier geen paaltje meer met een metalen plaatje. Hier moet je iets verder zoeken voor het volgende coördinaat. (Noot: Paaltje verdwenen na werkzaamheden in de winter 2009/2010)

Nederlands (zes en verder):
Op het aluminium plaatje bij dit punt zul je een coördinaat en meer informatie vinden. Deze extra informatie wordt in het volgende formaat weergegeven:
[At X ###° -> [A]mt] [At X $$$° -> [B]mt] dit betekend op het kruispunt (opgegeven coördinaten) moet je nog A meters in de richting ###° en daarna (volgende kruispunt) nog B meters in de richting $$$°. De afstanden (A andB) in meters heb je nodig voor het uitrekenen van X enY. Je hoeft het tweede deel niet meer te lopen, in het verleden lag hier de tweede cache. Ga hiervandaan verder met onderstaande informatie.

• Stel je gps in op "Dutch Grid" & "Dutch Map Datum" of stel je "User Grid" & "User Map Datum" in
• Zet je gps uit en weer aan
• Ga naar: 142X57 - 457Y81, waarbij X = A - 123 en Y = B - 2
• Daar zul je een rustplaats vinden.
• Op dit punt zal je het laatste aluminium plaatje vinden met de volgende coördinaten.
• Rond en op de rustplaats is de laatste maanden veel gewijzigd. Het aluminium plaatje is helaas niet de originele meer.

Welcome to this Geocache,
AWIP is one of the oldest geocaches still available in The Netherlands.
Please, after you logged this geocache, cover it up as GOOD AS POSSIBLE.
A lot of times in a year, we receive e-mails from joggers, that this geocache wasn't hidden in a proper way and that they covered it up for us. Very pleasant of course, but it's the responsibility of the geocaching community to do so.

Some of the coördinates mentioned in this cache will be in the Dutch National Grid.
For anyone that does not have standard "Dutch Grid" & "Dutch Map Datum" in their GPS, use the settings below to set your "User Grid" & "User Map Datum" for this Cache. In the Dutch National Grid System the lower coördinate part is always East and the higher coördinate part is always the North.

What you'll be doing:

• Walking for at least 5,1 km
• Making and altering at least 7 waypoints
• Altering your (user) grid
• Altering your (user) datum
• Searching…

Please consider the following:

• Stay on the paths as much as possible
• Come during daytime (you will get fined if you are still in the woods after sunset)
• Enjoy the surroundings this cache was made to have a nice walk thrue different parts of this forest
• Try not to handle the cache on the spot you find it
• Please put the cache back the way you found it

Cache information

Point one to six:
Best to park your car at the coördinates of this cache page. From here walk via N 52°06.6154 E 005°13.6617(aid point) to N 52°06.8665 E 005°13.9041 (starting point). At this point you will find a fallen down tree. Check the table below to see what your next point is.
At this point you will find a small aluminum plate (this one is close to the ground) with your next coördinates. Contunue this until you find a underground waterpump

Here you won't find a stone pole anymore, (disappeared during work on the waterpump in the winter from 2009/2010) so you have to look a little bit further for the next coördinate.

Point six and on:
On the aluminum plate at this point you will find a coördinate and some more information. This extra information will be in the following format:
[At X ###° -> [A]mt] [At X $$$° -> [B]mt] and it means that at the coördinates (crossing) you should go on for A meters in the direction ###° and after that (next crossing) you should go another B meters in the direction of $$$°. The distances (A andB) in meters are needed to calculate X and Y. You do not need to walk the second part any more, in the past you would find the second cache here. Now you can use the information below.

• Set your gps to "Dutch Grid" & "Dutch Map Datum" or set your "User Grid" & "User Map Datum"
• Turn your gps off and on again
• Goto: 142X57 - 457Y81, where X = A - 123 and Y = B - 2
• There you will find a resting point with the next coördinates.  
• At this resting point, you will find another aluminium plate for the following coördinate.
• Note, this place has changed the last couple of months. The current aluminium plate is sadly not the original one.
