En 1922, la famille FORTIER cède la brasserie laféroise à la famille ASSELIN, originaire du Nord. On y brassé déjà de la bière depuis fort longtemps. Les bâtiments les plus anciens en attestent ainsi qu'une plaque de cheminée datée de 1614.
Particularité de fonctionnement : la force motrice et l'eau chaude nécessaires au brassage provenaient d une machine à vapeur, alimentée au charbon. Son fonctionnement est équivalent à celui d une locomotive !
Pendant la 1ère guerre mondiale, la maison d'habitation et les bureaux, côté rue principale, sont détruits par les bombardements. Ils seront partiellement reconstruits.
Pendant la 2nde guerre mondiale, l'occupant a réquisitionné la brasserie. Le brassage s'arrêtera définitivement en 1858. La brasserie cessa ses activités en 2015.

In 1922, the FORTIER family sold the brewery to the ASSELIN family, originally from the North. The oldest buildings prove that beer had been brewed there for a very long time, as well as a chimney plate dated from 1614.
Particularity of operation: the driving force and the hot water necessary to the brewing came from a steam engine, fed with coal. Its operation is equivalent to that of a locomotive!
During the First World War, the house and the offices, on the main street side, were destroyed by bombing. They were partially rebuilt.
During the Second World War, the occupying forces requisitioned the brewery. The brewing stopped definitively in 1858. The brewery stopped its activities in 2015.
