Ribblehead station is high up on the Yorkshire Dales. All geocachers are invited to meet inside the Station Inn on Monday, 24th April at 3pm for an hour, probably by the roaring fire. Feel free to exchange Trackables.
Ribblehead station opened on the 4th December 1876 briefly as Batty Green. Built by the Midland Railway on their own railway line to Scotland. The station shut down in 1970 only to reopen in 1986 and since seen passenger numbers increased. Ribblehead station and the famous viaduct is at one of the most scenic point of the Carlisle to Settle line.
The Station Inn is a short walk from the railway station. It serves drinks and food and offers shelter should the inclement weather sweeps over during the event. However, if by a miracle the weather is warm and sunny we will be found in the beer garden.
