Geocache Description:

23 June 2023, 08:00 - 10:30

Benton Parks and Friends of Badger are putting together a really nice network of trails for public use, and as part of the 2023 Geocoin event we would like to give a little back by pitching in to do some maintenance and trash pick up.  Details will be provided at a briefing at the initial coordinates.  There is a loop trail of about 3 miles from this trailhead, and a gain of about 836 feet.  A longer, flatter walk is also available, following Sagebrush and Langdon trails. See the map linked below for distances. The group will split up if we are very large, splitting out to the alternate parking coordinates at the Westgate trailhead.

Bring water, broad brimmed hat, gloves, loose fitting clothing, and a garbage bag.   We will pickup trash and remove weeds but only those reachable from the trail.  We will start at 8 am to avoid the hottest part of the day and plan to be back. down by 10.  Please 'buddy up' and watch out for each other.  There are snakes around, but if you give them some room they will leave you alone.   You may be asking yourself what constitutes a weed, if it is in the trail and not woody, it is a weed.    Come out and enjoy a walk, camaraderie and some caching to boot.   We are coordinating with Friends of Badger and Benton Parks,  but neither group is sponsoring or otherwise responsible for this event.  Consider supporting Friends of Badger by volunteering some time in the future.
