The listed coordinates will take you to the
memorial disk placed for Guy Hammer on October 4, 2003. The cache
is within 15 feet of the disk.
Sadly, Guy Hammer, who placed this cache when
geocaching was in it's infancy, passed on September 14, 2003. Guy
is the man who introduced me to geocaching. Hembre Ridge in
Tillamook State Forest was one of his favorite places to visit and
spend time due to it's magnificent views. I, along with a group of
his friends, will be holding a memorial and placing a plaque in his
honor atop Hembre Ridge on October 4, 2003. Thank you to all those
who have found this cache and to those who will visit Hembre Ridge
in the future. Guy was happy to have shared this spot with so many
people and I'm certain will be smiling down on those who hunt it
from now on.

I just got back from placing a cache up on Hembre Ridge in the
Tillamook State Forest in NW Oregon. The challenge is not so much
finding the cache after arriving, but finding your way into the
area, as the obvious routes are blocked by washouts and active
logging areas. (hint - think Trask River... :) The view is
excellent though.
Original Contents:
Standard note explaining what it is.
Spiral bound notepad and two pens.

next week.
