La Lironde est un petit cours d'eau naturel de 6.67 Km. Il prend sa source à Montpellier, traverse Lattes pour se jeter dans l'étang du Mejean au point de confluence Nord 43.5567/Est 3.9257.
Les aménagements paysagers ont été réalisés en accompagnement de la création d’un chenal sur le cours d’eau, ouvrage hydraulique technique qui imposait de fortes contraintes :
– impossibilité de planter dans l’emprise du chenal afin de ne pas constituer d’obstacle à l’écoulement de l’eau,
– impossibilité de ré-introduire l’agriculture, qui composait une partie des paysages du site,
– la levée de terre constitutive du chenal ne pouvait être plantée de ligneux, pour en garantir la pérennité. Conditionné par ces données, l’aménagement a porté dans la restructuration du parc public attenant, le traitement des interfaces avec les différents milieux traversés, la plantation de bosquets ou de sujets isolés sur des reliquats fonciers.
Le chenal lui-même, dont l’aménagement a été minimal, constitue un vaste espace ouvert sur le ciel et les coteaux qui le bordent..

The Lironde is a small natural watercourse of 6.67 km. It has its source in Montpellier, crosses Lattes to flow into the Etang du Mejean at the confluence point North 43.5567/East 3.9257.
The landscaping was carried out in support of the creation of a channel on the watercourse, a technical hydraulic structure which imposed strong constraints:
– impossibility of planting in the right-of-way of the channel so as not to constitute an obstacle to the flow of water,
– impossibility of reintroducing agriculture, which made up part of the landscapes of the site,
– the embankment making up the channel could not be planted with woody plants, to guarantee its durability. Conditioned by these data, the development focused on the restructuring of the adjoining public park, the treatment of the interfaces with the various environments crossed, the planting of groves or isolated subjects on remnants of land.
The channel itself, whose development has been minimal, constitutes a vast space open to the sky and the hillsides that border it.
