Geocache Description:

04 May 2023, 17:00 - 18:30

We found our first cache on May4, 2003, it was not all that special of a cache to most cachers but it was the closest cache to where we were living at the time.  The first cache you find is always one that you remember no matter what the cache is.  Ours was GCF613 - Bee Hive #2, hidden on:04/10/2003 by 3Bees and we were the 10th cacher to find this cache.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

I had just gotten my first GPS and we had a friend from Alaska visit us for a few days. I was sitting one evening trying to learn how to use my new toy. She asked me if I had heard of this thing called Geocaching. By the way, she was not a cacher, so I was introduced to caching by a MUGGLE. I had not heard of this so we jumped on the computer and this was the closest cache to Mason at the time. Got it loaded into the GPS, after a learning how to, and we all loaded up and made the trip to the parking area. Was not long before I had found my very first geocache. Signed the log and could not wait to get back home so I could go online and signup, get a caching name and log my first find.  My second find would be in Traverse City only 3 days later. And now with over 35,000 finds I guess we have not slowed down much at all.

I have been able to make a lot of new friends along the way.  Been to a lot of places that I would probably never have gone to if it was not for this obsession call Geocaching.  We cherish the memories we have made over the last 20 years.

Come on out and celibrate our 20 years of finding geocaches and making friends.

We will be providing a few pizzas and soft drinks
