Geocache Description:

25 February 2023, 11:00 - 12:00

The January Walcott CITO was a great success and start for 2023. We enjoyed a good croud in the sunshine, removing 15kg of rubbish from the village streets. Let's do it all over again!
A later start time was requested to allow people to more comfortably travel in hence the 11:00 start. More importantly we finish at 12:00 when the pubs open!

Geocache Description:

25 January 2023, 10:55 - 12:00

The plan:

There is limited parking at the shop so I'd suggest parking on the residential streets in the village.

10:55 Sign onto the CITO at Billinghay shop (Marked as primary trail head).

11:00 Set off with individuals free to clean around Billinghay village whilst a group heads up Walcott road towards Walcott village.
Optionally, those that would rather walk from Walcott can meet us in the middle walking down to Billinghay covering more grould and using our cars less!

12:00 Reconvene at Billinghay store to dispose of rubbish bags then head out to get food and cache away the rest of the day.

Here is the main planned clean up with added turn off points for alternative returns or early exits to make it into a more pleasant walking loop.

You will need:

  • suitable dress for the weather and potentially grubby work.

  • gloves

  • bin bags

  • high vis jacket recommended

I will have some bags and disposable gloves. litter pickers and tough gloves might be a nice addition if you want them.

Once we are done, there are a few pubs in the village, ideal for a well deserved drink and catch up.

As this monthly CITO grows I will look to get some council support with litter pickers and signage but we are starting small.

I do intend to speak to North Kesteven council to get some signage for the Walcott road as traffic is quite fast here.
