Le karst est le nom de la structure formée par l'érosion hydrochimique et hydraulique des roches. Principalement observée sur les roches friables comme le calcaire, l'érosion karstique permet de mieux comprendre le processus de formation de certaines grottes.
Le processus de formation des grottes est très long. C'est l'eau de pluie (ou de fonte des neiges) et sa circulation qui s'infiltre et circule dans les fissures de la roche calcaire qui sont à l'origine du creusement des cavités.
Karst is the name of the structure formed by the hydrochemical and hydraulic erosion of rocks. Mainly observed on friable rocks such as limestone, karstic erosion provides a better understanding of the process of formation of certain caves.
The process of cave formation is very long. It is the rainwater (or snowmelt) and its circulation which infiltrates and circulates in the cracks of the limestone rock which are at the origin of the digging of the cavities.
Cette toute petite entrée, même pas pénétrable aux humains, permet cependant de faire un peu de spéléogenèse, la science qui traite du creusement des cavités karstiques. Cette entrée a une forme composée, et qui correspond à deux stades de creusement, c'est une cavité dite polyphasée
D'abord, un petit conduit de section plutôt vertical et de forme arrondie : c'est le stade de creusement en régime noyé (l'eau montait jusqu'au plafond), aligné sur une fissure verticale, une diaclase. Ensuite, l'eau qui a corrodé la roche a rencontré une discontinuitée horizontale, un joint entre deux strates, et le creusement s'est fait en écoulement libre (sans limite vers le haut), lattéralement.
This very small entrance, not even penetrable to humans, nevertheless allows you to do a bit of speleogenesis, the science that deals with the digging of karstic cavities. This entrance has a compound shape, and which corresponds to two stages of digging, it is a so-called polyphase cavity
First, a small duct with a rather vertical section and a rounded shape: this is the digging stage in the flooded regime (the water rose to the ceiling), aligned with a vertical crack, a joint. Then, the water that corroded the rock encountered a horizontal discontinuity, a joint between two strata, and the digging was done in free flow (without limit upwards), laterally.
