Geocache Description:

Welcome to Cache Across Maryland 2023. This year is the 20th anniversary of CAM. We have made this year a little special with a CAM cache in every county, plus Baltimore City.

This is one of the caches placed for Cache Across Maryland 2023. You must find a minimum of ten caches prior to the picnic held on Saturday, June 3, 2023 in order to receive a free Maryland Geocaching Society CAM geocoin.

Make note of the code word found inside each cache container. You must enter all the symbols into an online decoder in order to print your CAM certificate as well as print a claim form to submit and receive your geocoin at the picnic. More info on CAM is available here.

There are
FIVE MANDATORY COUNTIES. THOSE WILL BE GARRETT, ST MARY'S, CECIL, WORCESTER AND ANNE ARUNDEL. You can choose any of the other five counties to find a minimum of ten CAM caches.

Isle of Wight Nature Park

Isle of Wight Park is a 12-acre park located on is St. Martin's Neck Road, just south of Rt. 90 in Bishopville. Isle of Wight is a passive nature park, offering a canoe and kayak launch site, two piers and picnic tables. This park is a great place to relax, fish and partake in local crabbing activities.

Most of this scenic island, located in one of Maryland's most beautiful coastal bays, is dedicated to wildlife conservation. Its 200 acres of marsh and forests attract waterfowl and marsh birds. Located in Assawoman Bay, Isle of Wight is sheltered from the Atlantic Ocean by the same coastal barrier island that supports Ocean City.

Isle of Wight attracts many birds dependent upon tidal marshes and bays. Great blue herons and green herons hunt for small fish along the marshy shores. Waterfowl species commonly sighted include black ducks, buffleheads, scaup, brant, Canada and snow geese, and swans. In winter, the laughing call of the common loon adds to the wilderness atmosphere of the island.

The cache you seek is an ammo can. Please hide as well as found or better. Use stealth. Visitors should be aware that there may be biting flies, mosquitoes, and ticks present during April - November.
