Hedge Care at Hucclecote Meadows SSSI
Parking: There is some on-street parking opposite Hucclecote Meadows Reserve on Laxton Road (or in many of the other side streets nearby).
Where: We will meet at 09:30 by the main entrance to the Reserve (posted co-ordinates), or after that, find us working around the edges of the Meadows.
What: Join us as we care for the newer trees in the hedges around Hucclecote Meadows SSSI. This will involve checking stakes and tree guards, weeding, and removing guards from the more mature trees to encourage the lower branches to develop, increasing the density of the hedge.
How: The Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance and any necessary tools.
Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by Council insurance as long as you are working under the Countryside Ranger's instruction. Please bring your own gardening gloves and if you have shears, loppers and secateurs do bring them along. Don't worry if you don't have them as the Ranger will have a supply.
Please make sure you bring along your own refreshments as it can be thirsty work. Cake will be provided at breaktime!
