« Grésigny », c’est le nom du climat et du lieu-dit qu'il englobe. Le nom de la parcelle serait issu soit du nom d'un homme « Gracinius » qui possédait, juste ici, un domaine rural durant l'antiquité.
Ce terroir est intégralement planté en Chardonnay. Ce cépage blanc fait partie de la famille des Noiriens. Il est ainsi le descendant naturel du Pinot Noir, couplé avec un autre cépage ancien : le Gouais Blanc. Originaire de Bourgogne, le Chardonnay est aujourd’hui l’un des cépages les plus plantés au monde. Contrairement au Pinot Noir, cépage exigeant qui a du mal à s’acclimater hors de Bourgogne, le Chardonnay s’adapte facilement à son environnement. On dit de lui que c’est un cépage polyvalent et malléable. Sa faible intensité aromatique va permettre d’interpréter avec justesse et pureté les variations subtiles des climats qui l’accueillent.
« Grésigny » est un climat prestigieux, classé 1er cru, qui permet de produire des cuvées avec un très bel équilibre entre acidité, richesse aromatique et corps. Des touches beurrées et vanillées complètent tout en finesse les arômes d'agrumes. Le terroir très calcaire apporte des notes minérales.

This terroir is totally planted with Chardonnay. This white grape variety belongs to the Noirien family. Therefore, it is the natural heir of Pinot Noir, crossed with another old grape variety: the Gouais Blanc. Born in Burgundy, the Chardonnay is today one of the most planted grape variety in the world. Contrary to the Pinot Noir, exigent grape variety which has trouble to acclimatize itself out of Burgundy, the Chardonnay adapts itself easily to fit to its environment. We say about it: it is a versatile and malleable grape variety. Its low aromatic intensity allows a subtle and pure interpretation of the terroir where it grows.
« Grésigny » is a prestigious climat, classified as 1st grow, which allows to product vintages with a wonderfully amazing balance between acidity, aromatic richness and body. Buttery and vanilla hints make up and complement subtlety the citrus aromas. The very chalky terroir soil brings mineral notes.
