Months ago, I caught the bug of guessing, each day, a five-letter word. Eventually, I became prone to noticing whenever options shared identical beginnings. Cluewords like QUARK and ROUGE have the property that another word shares the initial four letters. I figured I'd take note of this, in case a puzzle idea gelled. So, I took out my quill and jotted down cluewords that have the property. However, a worthy puzzle needs to have an interesting hook; some cheap convolution wouldn't strike a positive chord with solvers. I finally was struck with an idea that brought peace to my soul; I hope it's a model puzzle that promotes, I guess, a feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment.
As for the puzzle, it's here somewhere!
