Jeg har valgt denne placering, fordi det er en favorit tur for os at gå på voldene og nyde den gode udsigt hele vejen rundt. Jeg tror også at det vil være en god tur at medtage børn, også grundet den nye legeplads. Mange bruger også stigningerne som løbe træning og lignende.
Der er flere indgange til fortet, den fra Amager strand over den lille bro samt indgangen fra Svend Vonveds vej. Fortet er åbent kl. 8-22 (20 vinterhalvåret). Som nødudgang efter kl. 22 kan bruges svingdøren ved broen. Hunde i snor.
Kastrupfortet hed oprindelig Kastrup Batteri. Det blev anlagt 1886-87 som et led i Københavns søbefæstning, og har i daglig tale næsten altid heddet Kastrupfortet eller bare Fortet. Området er ca. 4 ha stort og omgivet af en 25-60 m bred voldgrav (2-3 m dyb).
Overgik i 1925 til Københavns Kommune.
Åbnedes som folkepark i 1933 med udskænkningsteder og forlystelser.
Området blev benyttet af tyskerne under 2. verdenskrig og var efter krigen interneringslejr for tyske flygtninge.
I 1947 blev parken genåbnet.
I 1969 blev området fredet.
På toppen af fortet er der udsigt ud over Øresund og over indsejlingen til Københavns havn. Det var her, de danske soldater holdt udkig, da de under 1. Verdenskrig blev kaldt til Københavns Befæstning for at forsvare København mod et muligt tysk angreb.

I have chosen this location because it is a favorite trip for us to walk on the ramparts and enjoy the good view all around. I also think it will be a good trip to bring children, also because of the new playground. Many also use the climbs as running training and the like.
There are several entrances to the fort, the one from Amager beach over the small bridge and the entrance from Svend Vonveds vej. The fort is open at 8-22 (20 in winther times). As an emergency exit after 22 can be used the swing door by the bridge. Dogs on a leash.
The Kastrup Fort was originally called Kastrup Batteri. It was built in 1886-87 as part of Copenhagen's sea fortification, and in everyday speech has always been called the Kastrupfort or simply the Fort. The area is approx. 4 ha large and surrounded by a 25-60 m wide water-moat (2-3 m deep).
Transferred in 1925 to Copenhagen Municipality.
Opened as a public park in 1933 with pubs and rides.
The area was used by the Germans during World War II and after the war was an internment camp for German refugees.
In 1947 the park was reopened.
At the top of the fort there is a view over the Øresund and over the entrance to the port of Copenhagen. It was here that the Danish soldiers kept watch during the First World War, when they were called to the Copenhagen Fortification to defend Copenhagen against a possible German attack.
