Wright Park has been a place of many memories for me as I grew up just a couple of blocks from here. I learned how to play tennis when there was a tennis court; spent many a winter ice skating with friends and sitting by the fire drinking hot cocoa inside a small building that was next to the tennis courts; on occasion watch the guys play ice hockey; rode my bike over to the park to meet and just sit and talk with friends. And (as I whisper) got my first kiss here at this park. Sadly what is no longer here is a small house that stood to the right of the playground about 100' or so, where I helped an elderly missionary lady by cleaning her house once a week and taking her grocery shopping. I'm sure lots of memories will come flooding back once I get to the park.
Our Class of '72 adopted Keep On Truckin' as our class motto and The Horse was our class song. Our marching band (which I was part of) did an awesome job of keeping our class movin' and groovin' to the song.
Now, the reason for the get together. I will be coming up for my 50th High School Class Reunion for Alma High School this weekend. My friend HunterParents (who is along for the ride) and I would enjoy meeting any cachers in the area for an early morning get together. Afterwards we will be heading out to do some caching around the area for the morning if anyone would like to join us. We will supply the donuts and you will supply your own coffee/beverage.
After the weekend we will be heading to northern Michigan for more of our vacation. If anyone has any travelbugs they would like us to move along please bring them with you.
We hope to see you and remember to Keep on Cachin' !
