Le nom de la maison dite de Marie Stuart, située 25 rue de l’Amiral Réveillère et construite en 1561, fait écho à un événement survenu en 1548, alors que l’édifice n’existait pas encore.
La reine d’Écosse Marie Stuart en route vers son futur époux le roi de France, François II, a débarqué à Roscoff en 1545, sans doute non loin de la chapelle Saint-Ninien aujourd'hui disparue.
