Bat! Bat! Fly into my hat!
Halfmoon Lake Boat Ramp
Friday, October 21, 2022 from 7:00pm to 8:00pm
Many decades ago, the Riffster Clan would sit outside, watching bats nab bugs, around a streetlamp. The patriarch managed to convince the youngest member that if she threw her hat into the air, while shouting “Bat! Bat! Fly into my hat!”, she would catch one. Whilst this did not result in any captures, it did provide a lot of entertainment.
Unlike Clan Riffster, Stargazer22 and SwampyGirl actually know quite a lot about bats, and they even have this amazing bat detector, which lets you listen to them, as they navigate, and hunt. Sunset will be around 6:45pm, which is when these buggers really get active. Let’s meet at the posted coordinates at 7:00pm, and get some free bat education!
On a related note, if you see Clan Riffster tossing his smelly hat in the air, shouting odd rhymes, please don’t tell him that this does not work. Allow him his ignorance fueled bliss. No vampires were injured, in the making of this event.
