Geocache Description:

Update : Difficulty rating and terrain a bit higher for this cache because it is not accessible  by foot from civilization duing summer thaw months.  You will need a float plane and a boat.  In the winter, this is accessible via snow machine, or a long hike for the hearty.  The terrain is set high, as there is a little bushwhacking and mosquito fighting to had along the way.  This is not a cache for the mobility impaired.

This cache planted on an island on Monroe Lake.  We originally planted this cache July 6, 2013.  We visited it June 16, 2017 for maintenance and then again June 16 2022.  It was originally only known if you stayed with Loon Haunt Outfitters on the Monroe lake cabin, where we posted coordinates for geocachers to find.  We have decided to make this known publicly by posting here as well :-)

This is on a tiny island in what is called "old man's head".  Best to moor the boat on the south east side of the island and hike in 50' through dense brush.  DEFINITELY wear mosquito repellant!  Cache is in jar and is visible without removing any cover.

Note that the geocache site appears to show that this is in the middle of a lake, however if you look at more detailed mapping tool you will see a small island.  Good luck!

P.S.  If you made it to this one, make sure you bring coordinates to our other cache on this lake "They Would Have Loved It".
