The cache is not at the listed coordinates.
There is, however, an art gallery that once had a painting stolen from it and happens to be the starting point for the Heist at the NGV Adventure Lab which, once completed, will reveal the necessary information to locate the cache.
Please allow for sufficient time to complete both the AdLab and the bonus - there is a bit of travelling around the CBD required (at maximum efficiency, both can be done in under an hour with a Myki in hand). Public transport is plentiful and recommended, as is finding other local hides along the way; or consider splitting your journey up into multiple trips.
"Good artists copy, great artists steal."
- Pablo Picasso
In 1985, the National Gallery of Victoria purchased Pablo Picasso's 'The Weeping Woman' for A$1.6 million which was, at the time, the most an Australian art gallery had ever paid for a single work.
However, just a year later, it was stolen on the evening of August 2nd, 1986, setting a bizarre series of events into motion involving ransom letters, government ministers and a train station locker.
The Heist at the NGV Adventure Lab explores the people, places and actions comprising one of Melbourne's most fascinating art heists.
