The cache will bring you to the southern side of Long Ravine between the Long Trail and the
Big Buck trail, and is named for the great horned owl which was spotted soaring over the ravine while
cache was placed. Ignore the map and access this one from the Big Buck Trail. There is a herd trail
along the south rim of the ravine which should make access manageable. The forest undergrowth in
early May is not too bad, but long pants are recommended.
