Un coin d’histoire. Plus rares, plus discrets, ils passent presque inaperçus, ce sont les cimetières militaires Allemands. Ici reposent 2048 corps. Tombés essentiellement lors de la contre-offensive allemande d’Avril 1918, ces hommes sont morts loin de leur terre, enrôlés dans une guerre malgré eux, comme les soldats Français, Anglais, et alliés… Quelques murets en grès rose des Vosges ont été édifiés à l’entrée et au milieu du cimetière. On remarquera aussi les 2 stèles Juives avec l’étoile de David que vous apercevrez grâce à la localisation de cette Géocache.

Seltener und diskreter, fast unbemerkbar, ein paar Deutsche Soldatenfriedhöfe liegen im Nord Frankreich so wie diesen. Diese Männer sollten oft unfreiwillig kämpfen, so wie die Franzosen, Engländer und Alliierte Soldaten... Am Ende trafen sie alle nur den Tod weit von der Heimat. Vogesen Stein mauern prägen den Ort (in der Mitte / Haupteingang). Bemerkenswert sind die beiden Gräber mit den Jüdischen Stelen, dass Sie aus dieser Geocacheposition beobachten können.
Dear Geocacher friends, Not that common, almost unnoticeable, you are here located in a German Military Cemetery from the 1st World War. 2048 soldiers have been buried here. Most of them died in the German counter-attack from April 1918 that took place in the surrounding. Far away from home, those men had no other choice than to fight like the French, English and Allied soldiers. All of them met the death. Noteworthy are the 2 Jewish grabes with star of David, that you can notice thanks to the Geocache location.
