Com uma área de 32 m2, a pintura é da autoria de João Samina e foi executada num posto de transformação da EDP. Este trabalho de Street Art foi desenvolvido durante três dias, de 10 a 12 de agosto de 2017, no âmbito da 4ª edição do “Arte na Rua”, um projecto do Município, que visa trazer a Grândola artistas conceituados, com o objetivo de criar um circuito de Arte Urbana e, simultaneamente, promover o trabalho e a criatividade de artistas e artesãos do concelho.
António Inácio da Cruz, homenageado no mural, nasceu a 6 de dezembro de 1876, em Grândola. Autodidata e atento à realidade da época, manifestou um grande interesse por áreas como a Astronomia, a Física, a Música, as Ciências Sociais e a Agricultura. Ocupou o cargo de vereador efectivo em 1906, 1907 e 1916, recebendo um voto de louvor pelo seu empenho na resolução de problemas relacionados com o abastecimento de água à vila. Deixou os seus bens para a criação, em Grândola, de uma escola de ensino técnico, agrícola e industrial na qual a juventude mais carenciada do concelho, pudesse receber ensino gratuito. Faleceu em 1955.
João Samina nasceu em Setúbal em 1989 e aos 14 anos deu os primeiros passos no mundo da Street Art. A licenciatura e mestrado em arquitectura, na Faculdade de Arquitetura de Lisboa, de 2007 a 2013, contribuíram para a aquisição de novas técnicas e competências para o desenvolvimento dos seus trabalhos artísticos. Os murais de arte urbana são uma das suas imagens de marca. Tem várias obras em Portugal e noutros países como Espanha, França, Países Baixos, Brasil, Turquia e India.

The painting by João Samina has an area of 32 sq. meters and was created in an EDP transformer station. This Street Art work was developed over three days, from 10 to 12 August 2017, as part of the 4th edition of "Art on the Street", a project of the Grândola Municipality, which aims to bring to Grândola renowned artists, with the aim of creating an Urban Art circuit and, simultaneously, promoting the work and creativity of local artists and artisans.
António Inácio da Cruz, honoured in the mural, was born on the 6th December 1876, in Grândola. Self-taught and attentive to the reality of the time, he showed great interest in areas such as Astronomy, Physics, Music, Social Sciences and Agriculture. He was an effective councilman in 1906, 1907 and 1916, receiving a vote of praise for his efforts in solving problems related to the town's water supply. He left his goods for the creation, in Grândola, of a technical, agricultural and industrial school in which the most needy youth of the municipality could receive free education. He died in 1955.
João Samina was born in Setúbal in 1989 and at the age of 14 he took his first steps into the world of Street Art. His degree and master's in architecture, at the Faculty of Architecture of Lisbon, from 2007 to 2013, contributed to the acquisition of new techniques and skills for the development of his artistic work. Urban art murals are one of his trademark images. He has several works in Portugal and in other countries such as Spain, France, the Netherlands, Brazil, Turkey and India.
