A zona Sul de Serpa é a mais recentemente conquistada ao campo e urbanizada. Aqui encontram-se as construções mais recentes e mais longe da traça habitual que se encontra na zona histórica. Sendo uma pequena cidade, procurar alargar o seu perímetro acaba por embater naquilo que parece menos comum pelo Alentejo: linhas de água. Por estas zonas em quase todo o lado encontramos pequenos riachos e ribeiras. Esta zona está mesmo em cima de um riacho, tendo sido o mesmo fechado dentro de túneis para se poder construir.
O que nos resta a servir de testemunho que aqui se dava de beber aos animais e gentes é este poço com sua nora. Estando um pouco afastado da zona urbana, acaba por ser ponto de encontro dos mais jovens em noites de verão.

The southern part of Serpa is the most recently conquered to fields and urbanized. Here you will find the most recent constructions and the furthest from the usual layout found in the historical zone. Being a small town, trying to widen its perimeter ends up hitting what seems less common in the Alentejo: water lines. In these areas almost everywhere we find small streams and brooks. This area is right on top of a creek, which was been closed off in tunnels in order to allow for constructions.
What remains to serve as a testimony that here the animals and people were given water to drink is this well with its water wheel. Being a little away from the urban area, it ends up being a meeting place for young people on summer nights.
