Jan Kiepura Bridge Mill Island is located in the very center of Bydgoszcz, it is the green and cultural heart of the city. It is formed by the Brda river bed and its branch called Młynówka. The greater part of the Mill Island is made up of green areas - a park with tree-lined avenues and large lawns, which, combined with cascades of the so-called Międzywodzie and tenement houses of the picturesque Bydgoszcz Venice make it one of the favorite places for rest and walks.

Jan Kiepura Bridge - formerly known as the Love Bridge, is located near the famous Opera Nova. It connects Gabriel Narutowicz Boulevard with Mill Island. It is a steel-built, two-span structure with arched girders resting on concrete supports. Smaller boats and ships can pass freely under it.
It is famous for its tradition that newly married couples fasten a padlock with their names and date engraved on it. Immediately afterwards, they throw the key of the locked padlock into the river. This is to ensure the durability and inseparability of their relationship.
