Něco málo z historie:
První věznice v Uherském Hradišti byla postavena roku 1807 ve Františkánské ulici, která však roku 1891 vyhořela a tak bylo rozhodnuto o stavbě nové věznice - právě zde na Palackého náměstí. Stavba byla dokončena roku 1897 a nacházela se zde věznice i sídlo justice. Svým velkým rozsahem se stala jednou z největších věznic v českých zemích. Od roku 1920 do věznice přicházejí první političtí vězni. Mezi lety 1939 - 1945 zažívala věznice velký nápor v době nacistické okupace. Pochmurný osud a tragické příběhy bezpráví si s sebou věznice nesla až do roku 1960, kdy byla zrušena, a nejbližší věznicí se stala ta v Brně. I když okresní soud v budově sídlil nadále, po čase budovu oupoští i justice. Ze zbytku věznice se stává skladiště a z části vzniká Uměleckoprůmyslová škola. V roce 1994 byl areál vyhlášen jako nemovitá kulturní památka.
V aktuální době areál chátrá a je velmi málo dostupný. Spolek Memoria, který se o budovu stará, momentálně pracuje na vytvoření virtuální prohlídky jako imersivní expozice Za zdí, která má přibližovat kolemjdoucím osudy, které se ve věznici odehrávaly. Navzdory vysoké zdi, za kterou mezitím budou probíhat přípravné práce pro budoucí muzeum - památník. Jedná se o Národní památník obětí totalitních režimů a sídlo justice, která se zde bude po letech vracet.
Toliko krátce k pohnutému osudu místa, více se můžete dočíst na stránkách věznice. Tuto virtuální keš chceme věnovat všem, kterým svoboda není lhostejná. I proto ji zakládáme na Den památky obětí komunistického režimu.
Podmínka logování:
Vašim úkolem bude se v okolí budovy věznice vyfotit (sebe, svou GPS, nebo vaše cwg,... cokoliv, co bude dokazovat Vaši přítomnost na místě). Stačí, aby byla věznice vidět z jakékoliv strany v pozadí. Dobrovolnou částí tohoto úkolu je, abyste představili nějakým způsobem symbol (ne)svobody. Níže uvádíme příklady.
A little bit of history:
The first prison in Uherské Hradiště was built in 1807 in Františkánská Street, but in 1891 it burned down and so it was decided to build a new prison here on Palacký Square. The building was completed in 1897 and housed both the prison and the seat of justice. Its large size made it one of the largest prisons in the Czech lands. From 1920 onwards, the first political prisoners entered the prison. Between 1939 and 1945, the prison experienced a great onslaught during the Nazi occupation. The gloomy fate and tragic stories of injustice carried the prison with them until 1960, when it was closed down and the nearest prison became the one in Brno. Although the district court continued to be housed in the building, the judiciary also occupied the building over time. The remainder of the prison became a warehouse and part of it became the School of Arts and Crafts. In 1994 the site was declared an immovable cultural monument.
At present, the site is dilapidated and very inaccessible. The Memoria association, which takes care of the building, is currently working on creating a virtual tour as an immersive exhibition Behind the Walls, which is intended to bring the fate of the prison to the attention of passers-by. In spite of the high wall, behind which, in the meantime, preparatory work for the future museum - a memorial - will take place. This is the National Memorial to the Victims of Totalitarian Regimes and the seat of justice, which will return here years later.
So much for the brief fate of the site, you can read more on the prison's website. We would like to dedicate this virtual cache to all those who are not indifferent to freedom. That's why we are setting it up on the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Communist Regime.
Logging condition:
Your task will be to take a picture of yourself (yourself, your GPS, or your cwg,... anything that proves your presence on the site). You just need to be able to see the prison from any side in the background. An optional part of this assignment is to present a symbol of (in)freedom in some way. Above are examples.
