Baklandet Skydsstation – En perle i Trondheim
Bakklandet betegnes som Trondheims første forstad, og er i dag byens best bevarte antikvariske bydel. I selve hjertet av Bakklandet finner du den eneste fredede bygården; Baklandet Skydsstation. Bygget huser i dag en kafe som byr på kakao, akevitt, smørrebrød og sildebord. Baklandet Skydsstation ble i 2012 kåret til Årets kafe av National Geographic Traveler.
Historie:
Hovedbygningen mot gaten er antagelig oppført i 1791. Mot gårdsplassen finnes bl.a. vinduer fra slutten av 1700-tallet. Gården ble kraftig ombygd 1873, og deler av butikkinnredning fra denne ombyggingen er tatt vare på i restauranten. 1896 var anlegget ferdig utbygd, i to etasjer, med bakbygninger, lysthus og flaggstang. Bakgården er Bakklandets best bevarte og gir et inntrykk av hvordan disse ble utformet på 1800-tallet. I gården skal det tidligere ha vært drevet vognmannsforretning og skysstasjon, men dette er ikke dokumentert. Fra 1860-årene fantes det en hattemakerforretning i gården. Huset tilhørte på slutten av 1800-tallet Martha Klokseth og senere snekker Ingebrigt Eide. I årene 1896-1944 var det melkeutsalg i gården, som fikk sine varer fra Melhus meieri. Det har også vært drevet snekkerverksted, vaske-og-strykevirksomhet, skredderi og en svært tidlig utgave av lastebiltransport i gårdens første etasje. Huset fungerte kun som bolighus i årene 1944-1995, da arkitekt Trond Eide kjøpte det. Bakklandet Skydsstation så dagens lys i 1997 og er i dag en av Trondheims mest særpregede serveringssteder.
Baklandet Skydsstation – A gem in Trondheim
Bakklandet is regarded as the first suburb of Trondheim and is today the most preserved historical neighbourhood. The only antiquarian protected building at Bakklandet is the site for this Virtual cache, namely Baklandet Skydsstation. Today, this is a café famous for their hot chololate, rich variety of aquavit, open sandwiches, and herring buffet. Baklandet Skydsstation received in 2012 the 'Café of the Year' award by National Geographic Traveler.
History:
The main building facing the street is believed to be constructed in 1791. This is evidenced by intact windows from the late 18th century, among other factors. A major rehabilitation of the estate was initiated in 1873 and finished in 1896. Parts of this construction is still preserved in the café. The building had now two stories, premises, a pavilion (no longer existing) and flagpole. The back yard is the best preserved in whole of Bakklandet, a provides a good impression of the architecture at the time. Several businesses have taken place at this location. It is claimed that a haulage contracting business and posting station (Norwegian: 'Skysstasjon') was located here, but this has not been documented. From the 1860s a hatter business was present. In the years 1896-1944 it was a milk shop selling dairy products from Melhus dairy. The house have also accomodated a carpentry shop, laundry business, tailor and road haulage. From 1944- 1995 the house was a private domestic house, until architect Trond Eide bought the house. Baklandet Skydsstation then opened in 1997 and is still going strong.
