Geocache Description:

English

King Penguins are the second largest penguin species after Emperor penguins, and typically live on sub-Antarctic islands. Unexpectedly, in 2010, a small number arrived in the Bahía Inútil area of Tierra del Fuego, and stayed living there as a colony that is now successfully breeding. A reserve was created to protect the colony and it is here that this virtual cache brings you. Archeological evidence from the area shows that humans and king penguins were both present in the area in the past, with the oldest human sites dated to 6000 years before the present. The penguins have actually returned to their former territory.
