La petite Sirène est tout d'abord un conte de Hans Christian Andersen paru en 1837. Il a donné lieu à la réalisation, par Edvard Eriksen en 1913 d'une scuplture devenue célèbre. Celle-ci trône sur la promenade Langelinie à Copenhague.
Depuis un peu plus de 100 ans, la sirène a inspiré de nombreux artistes et les répliques de par le monde son très nombreuses (une liste des sirènes sculptées en général figure ici). Un (trop?) petit nombre d'entre elles hébergent une cache (la liste est accessible ici).
La version de la cité paoline a vu le jour le 5 novembre 2016. Elle est l'oeuvre du sculpteur Gabriel Diana et fut commandée par la mairie de la ville.

The Little Mermaid is, first of all, a tale written by Hans Christian Andersen published in 1837. It gave rise to the realization, by Edvard Eriksen in 1913, of a sculpture that has become famous. This one sits on the Langelinie promenade in Copenhagen.
For now 100 years, the mermaid has inspired many artists and there are many replicas around the world (a list of sculpted mermaids is available here). A (too?) small number of them host a cache (the list is available here).
