Le Rocher de la Vierge à Biarritz est un monument emblématique de la ville de Biarritz.
Ce rocher doit son nom à la statue de la vierge qui fût installée à son sommet en 1865. La légende raconte que les pêcheurs biarrots, baleiniers à l’époque, furent pris dans une tempête terrible. Une lumière divine les guida pour rentrer au port. Les rescapés érigèrent en remerciement une statue de la vierge sur ce rocher.
Napoléon III décida de percer ce rocher et de le relier à la côte par une passerelle. La première en bois ne supporta pas les caprices de l’océan. En 1887, Gustave Eiffel se vit confier la réalisation de l’ouvrage métallique.
La balade est très agréable avec sa vue imprenable sur la Côte Basque.
CONDITIONS POUR LOGUER LA CACHE
Vous devez vous rendre aux coordonnées de la cache, c'est-à-dire sous l'arche située à droite avant la passerelle. Profitez d'abord de l'un des plus beaux points de vue de la ville puisque de là vous pouvez voir le Phare, l'Hôtel du Palais et la Grande plage.
Ensuite, vous devez faire une PHOTO sur laquelle il y aura impérativement les 2 éléments ci-dessous :
- l'ARCHE avec en arrière plan le Phare (voir spoiler) ;
- VOUS dans une position originale (soyez créatifs) ;
(Si vous ne souhaitez pas montrer votre visage, votre main, une autre partie de votre corps ou un objet vous appartenant suffira)
Enfin, vous devez joindre cette photo à votre LOG.
Selon les guidelines des virtuelles, en cas de non respect de ces conditions, le log ne pourra pas être accepté.

Esta roca debe su nombre a la estatua de la virgen que se instaló en su cumbre en 1865. Cuenta la leyenda que los pescadores de Biarritz, entonces balleneros, quedaron atrapados en una terrible tormenta. Una luz divina los guió para regresar a puerto. Los supervivientes erigieron una estatua de la virgen sobre esta roca en agradecimiento.
Napoleón III decidió perforar esta roca y conectarla con la costa mediante una pasarela. El primero de madera no soportó los caprichos del océano. En 1887, se encomendó a Gustave Eiffel la realización del trabajo en metal.
El paseo es muy agradable con su impresionante vista de la Costa Vasca.
CONDICIONES PARA EL REGISTRO DEL CACHE
Debe ir a las coordenadas del caché, es decir, debajo del arco a la derecha antes de la pasarela. Primero, aprovecha uno de los miradores más bonitos de la ciudad ya que desde allí puedes ver el Phare, el Hôtel du Palais y la Grande Plage.
Luego, deberás realizar una FOTO en la que irán imperativamente los 2 elementos siguientes :
- el ARCHE con el Faro al fondo (ver spoiler) ;
- USTED en una posición original (sea creativo) ;
(Si no desea mostrar su rostro, su mano, otra parte de su cuerpo o un objeto que le pertenezca será suficiente.)
Finalmente, debe adjuntar esta foto a su LOG.
De acuerdo con las pautas de las virtuales, en caso de incumplimiento de estas condiciones, el log no podrá ser aceptado.

The Rocher de la Vierge in Biarritz is an emblematic monument of the city of Biarritz.
