CACHE IS NOT INSIDE THE PROPERTY NOR IN THE LANDSCAPING! BE RESPECTFUL, PLEASE!
The Florida manatee inspired this quick cache. These peaceful, gentle giants grace our surrounding waters, thrilling all who happen to catch a glimpse of them swimming the area November through March.
The manatee's closest modern relative is the elephant. Manatees weigh from 1200 to 3500 pounds, and can measure as long as 12 feet. Though typically slow moving, they can swin up to 20 miles per hour. Adult manatees have no natural predators, but are still considered threatened, particularly by loss of seagrass and habitat, and accidents with boats.
This can be an easy park and grab, or you can spend several hours exploring the surrounding historic neighborhood, or exploring the lagoon area, watching manatees during the winter months.
