What is better than a nice walk to find geocaches? A ride on a mini railway, or a trip down a mine, that's what!
Come and join us at the Apedale Heritage Centre and Apedale Valley Light Railway in Apedale Community Country Park, in Chesterton, Newcastle-under-Lyme.
We have made arrangements with the Heritage Centre, for exclusive access down the mine and for rides on the light railway. Tickets for these must be purchased in advance and are available on our website.
The Country Park already has some excellent caches, some of which are quite old, and new ones will be made available for this event. While walking around the area, you can enjoy the stunning views over Staffordshire and marvel at the historical items left behind after the mining ceased.
There is a cafe and toilet facilities on site, and there is plenty of car parking available. The cafe does a wide range of refeshements, and a menu can be found here. The Heritage Centre and disabled parking close at 4pm, however, the main car park (height limit) is open until 10pm and the other two car parks (see waypoints) are good for high vehicles.
